From script to screen - New Premise and Logline


The premise

After years of working alongside evil brain surgeon Dr. Brantly, Dexter decides that his latest scheme may indeed be his last.

The logline

Setting up a lair in the basement of a hospital and slowly collecting world renown scientists to power his knowledge enhancing helmet, Dr. Hugo Brantly feels as though his plan to become the most knowledgeable and powerful doctor in the world is starting to come together. This is until his mistreated sidekick Dexter decides that he has had enough of walking in Dr. Brantly's shadow and uses the helmet for himself.

Figure 1. Movie poster (2012) The Impossible is a disaster film directed by J. A. Bayona, which is based on the 2004 tsunami that hit Thailand. The film is based on the real life situation of a family of five who have travel to Thailand on a family holiday. The storm then hits the part of Thailand where the family are staying and they all become separated .  The three act structure The three act structure suggests that when creating there are three acts. The set up (exposition), the confrontation (obstacles) and the resolution. Figure 2.
