Life drawing - Lesson 1
For our first exercise we were given a minute for each pose. I think the first pose was the best drawing because of how in proportion the drawing looks. These poses were drawn in black felt tip.
For our second exercise we were given a minute for each pose but had to draw in continuous line for the first four drawings. For the fifth drawing we were told to hold two of the same of similar drawing utensils and complete the drawing. I think that the fifth drawing was the best because I like the drawing style and effect that was created. These poses were drawn in pink and green felt tip.
For the third exercise we were given thirty seconds to quickly draw the model in front of us. After the thirty seconds were up, we were then told to move clock wise around the room to the next drawing board until we were back where we originally started. At first I found this exercise quite stressful because I'm not used to drawing under a thirty second time restraint but I like how the page turned out and it will help my own drawing style to look at other's work.
For the fourth exercise we were given ten minutes to draw the model. For this, I used a black marker for the outline of the model and blue and yellow felt tip pens for the highlights and shadows. Although this drawing is out of proportion, I like the style.
For the fifth drawing exercise we were given twenty minutes to draw the model in a new pose. For this pose I used a light blue and dark blue felt tip pen as well as a black fine liner to create shading and highlight on the model. I'm not too fond on the drawing of the model as it is out of proportion again but I do like the style it is drawn in.
For the sixth drawing we were given twenty minutes to draw the model. To complete this drawing I used a black fine liner and black marker pen. Although the black marker pen was running out, I think it created a nice shading effect. I was also much happier with the proportions of the model in this piece.
For the seventh exercise we were given ten minutes to draw the model. I decided to focus on the whole of the model's body to try and help with drawing her body in proportion. I like this piece as I believe that the body is in proportion and the use of perspective is correct.
Lovely to see your life-drawing again, Tia! :)
