Life drawing - Lesson 3

For the first part of the lesson we were given 1 to 2 minutes to draw 6 different poses that the model made. I used a black felt tip pen to create these drawings.

We were then given 2 to 3 minutes for this drawing, we were told to try and draw the glove and drawing it a caricature style. I used a black felt tip pen for this drawing.

The model then decided to use some props and a chair to enable our drawings to be more characterful. We were given 5 minutes each for these drawings and were told to draw the model by wear a latex glove with charcoal attached to it to see how drawing in this way would effect our style. Although it was hard to get used to at first I did enjoy using the glove and charcoal.

The model then changed pose and we were given another 5 minutes to draw them. We were also told to use any material that we would prefer so I decided to continue to use the charcoal.

We were then given 20 minutes to draw the model in different positions.

Looking at the drawings that I created in the lesson, I prefer the three 20 minute drawings. This is as I was able to experiment more with shading and texture around the model clothes and I believe that the model is in proportion in the first 2 drawings.
