Life drawing - Lesson 6

Here are my life drawings from this week's life drawing class.

For the first exercise we were given 10 minutes for each study of the model. I used blue ink and water to create each response.

For the second exercise we were given 30 minutes to create our next response. For this I used blue ink for the shadows, yellow ink for the highlights and orange ink for the mid-tone.

For the third and final response we were given another 30 minutes. For this I continued with using blue, orange and yellow ink but incorporated fine liner into the environment. This was so that it is easy to understand where and how the model was placed and it also meant that due its lack of colour, the environment did not draw attention away from the model.

  1. I really like those first 'blue' drawings, Tia - you've very convincingly captured those poses and the foreshortening is effective.
