Mud box - Lesson 1/2 - Modelling and texturing

As I was not in the first lesson, which was last Friday, I created an apple, fruit bowl and plane in Maya today before transferring it to Mudbox. After transferring all of the objects we then went into colouring and adding effects to the colours to make the objects seem more realistic.

At first we looked at the fruit bowl and how different images can be transferred into Mudbox and then inprinted onto a surface. We then saw how different effects can change the shininess and texture.

After finishing that we moved onto texturing the picnic blanket. We created a new image on Photoshop of a picnic blanket. We then took that image into Mudbox and used it as a stencil to cover the blanket’s surface. After that we then went into Photoshop again and created a bump map which was used to add more texture to the blanket. We then brought all of the objects back into Maya and posed the apples, fruit bowl and picnic blanket.
