Premise - Ideas - Diabetes


For my premise project I am very interested in creating an animation which is able to show my day to day life and struggles with having Type 1 Diabetes. After speaking to Alan and Phil, I was suggested creating a bubble map to help with finding out how I feel when my blood sugars are high and when they are low and how I feel in general about living with it.

 This is the bubble map that I came up with:



From writing down these emotions, it helped me to understand myself and the characters that I am going to create for the project.

Film review: A Knight's Tale (2001) - A Hero's journey

During today's lecture we looked into depth on Joseph Campbell's monomyth theory on the 17 stages of 'A Hero's Journey' and how the stages are very evident in films such as Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) and The Matrix (1999). The theory has 3 acts which come together to form the 17 different stages in A Hero's Journey.  Below is a diagram to explain Campbell's theory: Figure 1.
