@Alan Diabetes monster - New orthographs

In the images above, the pink lines show where I have improved the orthographs for the character. After speaking with Alan I have tapered the gloves, made sure that the shoes face forward on the front view orthograph, made his shoulders narrower at the top and changed his head shape slightly. The new orthograph is shown below:

I have altered some of the character's features further when creating the orthographs in Adobe Illustrator. I have adjusted the shoulders so that they were the same level in both views. I have also ensured that the top and bottom part of the face is also aligned.

  1. Hi Tia, There was nothing wrong with the front view before. Just the feet needed to face forward. So keep the rounded/sleek look. The feet need to be wider in the front view to give him more stability. Side view, the head has a bump/corner in it (back/top of the head), make it round.

To be honest Tia, we are getting to the point where (as a third year) you should be making these decisions for yourself and being able to quality control your work on your own - Time to take the training wheels off etc. I understand that you need help and feedback (and of course ask) but I think you can afford to take ownership of this character quality control it. Less "Is this it?" and more 'I know what is right/wrong'. Try to notice the flaws in your work, the bump in the head for example is 'obviously wrong' and falls more under the category of 'quality control'not a character design question. Hope that makes sense?
